Every year, Medguard is proud to support the Irish General Practice Nurses Educational Association (IGPNEA) Conference as a key sponsor. This year, Medguard stood out as the sole medical consumable supplier present at the event, further reflecting our unwavering dedication to being there for our customers year after year. Sponsorship of the IGPNEA Education Award reflects our belief that GP nurses deserve recognition for their incredible efforts and the lasting impact they have on patient care.

We were delighted to see Inas Larkin from Carlton Clinic receive this year’s Education Award for her poster presentation, titled “Pneumovax in the 65–70 year old – Are we missing MECC opportunities?”. Her work was based on an anonymous audit she carried out, and the judges praised it highly, noting: “A very interesting and topical area of practice identified, and the need for an audit is clearly presented. Excellent poster title which catches the reader’s attention. The date and criteria for the audit is clearly presented. The results of the audit and key learning are aligned with the interventions which demonstrates the improvement that can be made if interventions are embedded in practice.”

Her achievement is a powerful example of the innovation, dedication, and expertise that GP nurses bring to the healthcare system, highlighting how clinical audits and reflective practice can directly enhance patient care.
